Popping in for a chat
It is not uncommon to see folks in our gardens ‘talking to themselves’. We have become pretty used to it as we know that they have really just popped in for a chat with a departed loved one.
It is quite amazing how mentally refreshing it is to share your life with the spirit of someone that has been so close, even though they are not physically there. Connections this strong are hard to break but there is actually no reason to stop.
I saw a young mum recently with a newborn in her arms introducing the child to her grandmother and the grandmother to her new grandchild. It was really special.
The whole idea of memorialisation is to have a place to visit and pay your respects.
We have now installed seating near many of our memorials but we notice that many people still bring a small folding chair to make it more comfortable to ‘talk a while’.
Feel free to pop in any time, you are always welcome at Great Northern Garden of Remembrance.
